North Embryo Freezer Unit (#226001 & #226002) is a freezer designed to be used with your existing LN2 tank as the freezing source. The metal core block with straw inserts fits onto the neck opening of the tank and uses the vapors to freeze embryos at adjustable height levels. Can be used with or without isopropyl alcohol. Additional equipment needed includes a digital thermo-couple for monitoring temperatures, cryo gloves, timer and tweezers.
There are three sizes available, your tank size determines the unit best suited for your tank. (Note: When using the freezer it is recommended that the metal core does not touch the sides of the neck.)
Small - The metal core has a 1-5/8" diameter and will work with the Signature XC20 and ET20 tanks (It will not work with the SC2020 tank). This unit has 30 chambers and can typically hold 29 1/4cc straws and a thermocouple monitor.
Medium - The metal core has a 2-1/4" diameter with 75 chambers and can hold up to 74 1/4cc straws and a thermocouple monitor.
Large - The metal core has a 3" diameter with 125 chambers and can hold up to 124 1/4cc straws and a thermocouple monitor.
